This is our 75 gallon (48in x 18in x 21in) reef tank. It runs with a CoralLife 2x150 watt 20,000K Metal Halide fixture and a Glo 2x54 watt T-5 fixture with 1 18,000K and 1 Actinic T-5 bulb (408 watts total). We use a Corallife Super Skimmer 220G for protein skimming, a Fluval 405 canister filter and a Fluval 305 canister filter. We also have a Hydor Koralia 4 (1200 GPH) powerhead and a Hydor Koralia 1 (400 GPH) powerhead for flow. Total water circulation is at about 2000 GPH or about 27x turnover per hour. We use a Hydor External 300 watt in-line heater on the return line of the Fluval 405 canister filter. We have about 70 pounds of live sand and about 140 pounds of live rock.
I do about a 20% bi-monthly water change and in addition to cleaning the canister filter monthly, I replace the filter foam, water polishing pads and carbon. I use Salifert pH, KH (Alkalinity) and Ca (Calcium) tests weekly to monitor water quality and I use Seachem buffers when needed. I use the 5-in-1 test strips to check Nitrate and Nitrite. The highest that I have ever measured Nitrate is 20 ppm, but it mostly stays at 10-15 ppm. Nitrite has always tested 0 ppm.
These pictures were taken when the tank was about 7 months old (November-2008). We had a small 29 gallon before this one as our first tank, but that tank only made it about a month before it ran out of space and I bought this one. Now I really need a 180 gallon with a sump and refugium :)
Water Parameters:

Alkalinity: 2.86-3.43 meq/L (8.0-9.6 dKH)
Calcium: 380-420 ppm
Temp: 78-80º F

Local Fish Store:
We use Pets Unlimited almost exclusively. We usually drive past 4 other stores on the way to Pets Unlimited. No other store in the North Atlanta area has better service, healthier livestock or a more knowledgeable staff. They are also open 7 days a week and they carry excellent dog and cat supplies too.

The picture above is how the tank looked at about 3-4 months old. At about the 4th month I changed the tank to look like the picture below.
|

This is how the tank looked from about 4 months old thru about 9 months old. At the end of the 9th month I re-aquascaped and traded in about half of the livestock that I had. I have mostly SPS corals and more unusual fish now.
